A Day to Move a Yard...

...a yard of material that is!

I used two fat quarters of Swanky by Moda, one fat quarter of lime swiss dot by Lakehouse and a random melon colored fat quarter from Joann's. I couldn't be happier with my new, totally coordinated set!!! I made: a purse with ton's of pockets, a change purse, a credit card pocket, a makeup bag and a random flat wallet that I will use to contain my receipts. Here are a couple of close-ups:

Here's a close up of the front pockets, side pockets and you can just my pen peeking up from it's pen holder inside.

My change purse with the lime dot inside:

Isn't this flower the cutest!!! I had picked up a piece of remnant wired ribbon with no purpose in mind. It has blue and purple on the side that is hidden but fortunately, when I got the flower made up, they don't show. The flower center is a vintage brass button from my Grandmother's jar and is just the perfect touch to go with the soft brown accents in the material.

I have never had a complete matching set before, so I am over the moon with my creation!

Teatime and Butterflies...

So, I have decided that I pretty much love all the fabrics that come out of Lakehouse Dry Goods Fabrics! Here are three that I am currently in love with:

These are from the Teatime Floral line. I was at my local quilt shop this past weekend with Baby Girl and we fell in love! So I bought a half a yard of each of these to make up a couple of pillows for her bed.

What you can't tell from the pictures is that the dot material and the butterfly material both have a pearlized pattern to them. Simply lovely.

I am almost done with the pillow top. I decided to try my hand at hand quilting. It's going very well, aside from a sore index finger from pulling the needle and a sore middle finger from shoving the needle halfway into it under my fingernail. Little enough ouchies considering I am loving the way it it turning out! Besides, if I don't screw something up, or get hurt, I haven't made it right!

I plan to make a ruffle for the pillow and once I get it done I promise to post a picture...I know I'm bad about that. I still haven't posted pictures of the last two purses I made...bad me...

I've Fallen In Love...

With a whole collection of fabrics. Look at these gorgous fabrics from LakeHouse Dry Goods :

I would love to make a quilt out of these lovely patterns! The collection is called Doll Dresses and apparently came out last September.

Unfortunately my budget won't wrap around enough of a sampling to make a quilt...sigh...stupid how the electric company wants their money first! So if any of you are willing to send me the fabric... just kidding... but seriously... no, I don't really mean it... unless you want to...

Okay back to the real world! Check out Holly's blog. She offers some beautiful quilt patters for free!

...thinking to myself... maybe the kids won't mind eating peanut butter and jelly for a few days and I can sneak off to the quilt shop to pinch at least a couple of 1/2 yard lengths... hmm...

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
