A Giveaway Win and a Swap...

I'm a little behind making this post.

At the end of September I won a wonderful giveaway from Pam over at Tall House Quilts. The giveaway was for some wonderful fall decorations and a Halloween decorating book. It's hard to see in the picture, but all the gourds are covered in beads. I have decorated my "sideboard" (which is actually an old dresser with an even older mirror propped on it) in my dining room. I absolutely love the way it looks! Thank you so much Pam! If you get a minute you should really pop on over to her blog, she does some beautiful sewing and quilting!

My other goody I want to share is a swap I participated in. Viki from Tozz's Corner and Jenny from Elefantz hosted a mug hug swap. We made a mug mat and a mug cozy for a partner and they made one for us! It was great fun to do! Nanine from the Netherlands (no blog that I'm aware of) was my partner and what she sent me is darling! I love the way she quilted the hearts into the mug cozy! And it's pink! What more could a girl ask for!!! Thank you Nanine for making this a great swap for me!

And here is what I sent her:

It's hard to see, but the flowers are actually embroidered with silver thread, it's a pain to work with, but it looks so nice when it's finished!

Look What I Got In The Mail!

I participated in the "Show Some Sewing Love Swap" and look what my partner sent me! This was Robin's (no blog) first swap and she out did herself! She sent me two pot holders and an oven mit, CANDY!, notecards, a measuring tape, a strawberry pincushion, muffin cups, a darling ornament she made and a beautiful table runner! I take crappy pictures so it's hard to see how wonderful the table quilt really is. I already have it proudly displayed on my diningroom table. She also sent the nicest note! She really should have a blog because she is a very interesting person. I look forward to getting to know her better!

This 'n That & Angel Swap

I got my winnings from Jane's fabrics. The best thing I can think of to say about it is...YUMMY!!! The patterns are darling and the material is absolutely wonderful! Thank you again, Jane, for pulling out my name!

I took a picture today of the cutest little frog on the back runningboard of my van and just had to share him. He was so tiny, he was about half an inch long!

I also managed to take a picture of a couple more things I have completed for my Stitcher's Angel Swap.

The bag is "Blue Wren's Nest" from Cinderberry Stitches. Obviously, I changed the colors a bit. You should pop on over to Natalie's site and get the free pattern while it is available. The other thing in the picture is a tapemeasure that I covered with felt and a material yo-yo. I topped it off with buttons from my Grandma's button jar. The buttons are from the 30's or 40's. I am almost done with another little project for my partner and then will wait to see what the last project is before I decide if I am done or not. Of course, just in case my partner stumbles across my blog, I am not sharing quite everything that will be in her box - have to have a couple surprises!!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I can't believe that the week is gone by already! It has just flown by! On Wednesday, I took a braided quilt as you go table runner class with my Mom. It was really fun! I am still in the process of hand stitching the binding down, but as soon as it is done, I will post a picture.

I did manage to complete a couple things for my stitchers angel. I am going to post pictures, because as many other's have said, with 250 people participating, the chances of my angel finding out who I am are slim to none!

Here is the armchair caddy, one of the free projects that has been posted over at Hugs from Helen. I really love the way it turned out. The embroidery took me the longest. Great project! The other is a pincushion that I made out of coordinating fabrics.

I used a button from my Grandma's button jar for the pincushion. Here are a few closeups.

Now I have to decide what I want to make next to include in my package! This is fun!
