Fungi…

little mushroom pincushions

Do you pintrest? I do. It’s amazing the things you can see on there! Things you wouldn’t normally stumble across unless your whole life is spent online.

I found a darling, and new to me, pincushion tutorial that I thought I would share with you. Aimee Ray over at Little Deer Tracks shares it with us. While you’re there you should check out her other crafting goodies…they’re adorable!

I’ll Make You, My Pretties…

So I Googled “pincushions” tonight. Usually I’ll type in “pincushion tutorial” at the search engine, but not tonight. Just the single word. Boy did I find some cute, amazing, adorable, awesome pincushions! I now have a bunch more projects to add to my 5,653 other things to make this year!  I adore pincushions, what can I say? When it comes to them I can’t help myself, it’s like the Queen song says: I want it all, I want it all, I want it all and I want it now!!!

Apparently, I’m A Little Blue…Part Deux…

I made myself a box.  It’s sort of like a camera case.  I got the pattern from youcanmakethis.com.  First let me say I LOVE how it turned out.  Having said that, it was very labor intensive. The instructions were fantastic!  There were just a LOT of steps.  As they say, though, nothing worthwhile is ever easy! I don’t recommend this for a raw beginner, but it’s easily finished by someone with moderate sewing skills.

I added a felt square for needles for when I use it as a craft case and there are removable dividers that Velcro in.  I used foam core board for the sides and bottom so it is nice and sturdy.  I am sure this is destined to become our camera case! I also made a pincushion with the extra material!

Did Someone Say Tutorials???

I thought that today I would list a few tutorials for things I want to make! Just click on the pictures to go to the tutorial!!!

The Train to Crazy has some really cute skirts for girls! I really want to make a couple or then for Baby Girl!
Betz White has a couple. First a stackable display for goodies, and then she also has an eyeglass case that is too cute!
And last for today, Fabtalk has a darling pincushion that I will probably make up for my Stitching Angel (and of course, one for me!):
Well, I think that is enough for today! Go make something!!!

Pincushion Love...

So, I like, LOVE pincushions! Especially ones I can make out of wool felt.

Here is a book that I bought a while ago:

Really great book! I have made a couple from it like the ones on the cover and they turned out really cute!

I am going to start keeping a list in my sidebar of all the pincushion tutorials that I like. Most of them I haven't made yet, but I plan to! If you make any of them, please let me know, I'd love to see your versions!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I can't believe that the week is gone by already! It has just flown by! On Wednesday, I took a braided quilt as you go table runner class with my Mom. It was really fun! I am still in the process of hand stitching the binding down, but as soon as it is done, I will post a picture.

I did manage to complete a couple things for my stitchers angel. I am going to post pictures, because as many other's have said, with 250 people participating, the chances of my angel finding out who I am are slim to none!

Here is the armchair caddy, one of the free projects that has been posted over at Hugs from Helen. I really love the way it turned out. The embroidery took me the longest. Great project! The other is a pincushion that I made out of coordinating fabrics.

I used a button from my Grandma's button jar for the pincushion. Here are a few closeups.

Now I have to decide what I want to make next to include in my package! This is fun!
