Life's a Yo-Yo...

Sewn yo-yo's that is!
Baby Girl and I worked on a project that I got from Zakka Life. Baby girl did most of the sewing herself. I sewed a bit of elastic on the back and I connected the yo-yo's for her. She did a great job making all the yo-yo's herself! Isn't this the cutest bracelet!

Of course I had to get in on the action too! Mine isn't quite done yet, I'll finish it tonight while we watch t.v. I just love this material! I so wish I could get more. It is from a scrap swap I did a while back. The flowers are outlined in gold and my camera just doesn't do justice to the colors!

I also ran across these darling yo-yo clip barretts over at Wee Folk Art.

They even provide the instructions on how to make them!

Last, but most certainly not least there is a giveaway at one of my favorite blogs! Lori from Bee In My Bonnet is generously giving away floursack dishtowels, DMC floss, needles and a choice of an iron on transfer set.
If you've never been to Lori's blog before, you have to stop by. She has some of the most darling quilts I have ever, EVER seen! Oh, but of course you don't have to sign up for her giveaway as I plan to win...

New Tea Cosy...

A while back I won some awesome material from Jocelyn over at Happy Cottage Quilter .

When I saw the material I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for. It matches my tea pot EXACTLY! So, I made myself a tea cosy like I made my Mom for Mother's Day! I also made 4 coasters to match. I love how it turned out!So, now I have a question for you. My Mom's best friend saw my Mom's tea cosy and now they both want me to make them for the craft show my Mom talked me into doing this August. My problem is that I don't have a clue what to charge for the set! Any suggestions?

I want to thank Jocelyn again for the lovely material. It looks awesome with my tea pot and in my kitchen!

Playing catch up...

I finally have a few craft related pictures to show you. First is a darling little drawstring backpack that I made from a pattern from Diane Nesbit. I made it my size on the straps, I am planning on making another one for Baby Girl and making MUCH shorter straps! I do think it needs a flower or something on the top where the drawstring(strap) goes through. Next up I wanted to show you a picture of a beautiful giveaway I won from Lana over at Honeysuckle Lane. She does exquisite ribbon work! You should stop by her lovely blog and see some of her other beautiful pieces. She sent a darling scrabble pendant along with my beautiful pillow. You can see better pictures than I take over at her blog.
Last up, I promised a picture when I finished the stroller quilt for my Daughter's teacher who just had a baby girl. So without further ado (even though it's been done for over two weeks...):
It's just a simple nine patch backed with a soft pink chenille. I didn't quilt it as I can't do that on my machine, so it's just tied. I think it turned out really cute! It was a total stash buster too, so that just added to my pleasure with it. A great gift with no real out of pocket expense! The best!
I'll have more to show soon...

What I did Today...

Baby girl had dress rehearsal today. It always takes about twice as long as the actual recital time. I know I am biased but, she was so beautiful. Sometimes she would make a move just a certain way and I would say "Wow! She really is a dancer!" I love the way I can see the grace in some of her movements...I am totally enamored!

Modern:

Jazz:

Ballet (with one of her best friends Olivia):

I'm tired! Between organizing, labeling and packing costumes, figuring out two days of lunches, driving, classes and one other rehearsal, I'm ready for tomorrow's recital so I that I can take a break from being a dance Mom! At least until August. Then things will pick up a bit more as Baby Girl tried out for and made "Company" which is the dance schools competition team. It's all good though, I'm so happy that she has found something that brings her such joy!

Next week things should settle down a little and I will be able to show you a few goodies. I have been working on things, just not very effectively! I have a couple of new made things and a couple of giveaway goodness to show you!
